**Vietnamese Teacher - Language & Literature**

**About the Department**:
At BIS HCMC, the Vietnamese department offers two levels of Vietnamese for students from grades 7 to 13, including Vietnamese as a first language and Vietnamese as a foreign language. The Vietnamese departmental mission is:

- To promote a lifelong love of learning Vietnamese, to inspire creativity and imagination, and to develop students as critical readers and thinkers.
- To develop a good understanding of Vietnamese culture for all of our students, whether first language or foreign language learners.
- To deliver a curriculum that engages all students in the learning of Vietnamese, whilst respecting the needs of the DOET, IGCSE and IBDP curricula.
- To make the Vietnamese classroom a safe and friendly place where students can learn to read, write, and speak Vietnamese according to their language level.
- To further promote Vietnamese language and culture through a wide range of co-curricular activities.
