**Job Description** Get to Know the Team**

The Financial Engineering team builds safe, secure and high throughput payments primitives. We oversee a range of platform primitive components such as Wallet, Reconciliation Engine and API Gateway. We take pride in building distributed systems that have a impact on the lives of millions of users in our endeavour to out-serve the underserved population.

**Get to Know the Role**

You will have opportunities to design backend services. Not only will you get to collaborate with the product, business, and program management teams to be on top of your deliverables, you will also serve as a mentor to your teammates to help meet the teams' deliverables and goals. This role is based in Vietnam and onsite. You will report directly to the Vietnamese Engineering Manager.

**The Critical Tasks You Will Perform**
- Identify, prioritize, and execute tasks in the software development life cycle.
- Automate tasks through appropriate tools and scripting.
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to define, design, and ship new features and functionalities.
- Lead the architecture and coding standards efforts, ensuring clean & efficient code.
- Implement modern best practices and patterns in software development.
- Mentor junior software engineers, providing guidance and support to foster their growth and development.
- Conduct code reviews, ensuring coding standards, best practices, and security guidelines are adhered to.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in software development to continuously improve our products and processes.

**Qualifications** What Essential Skills You Will Need**
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years experience in backend development with clear architecture mindset
- Solid understanding of programming principles, financial transaction consistency, and Git version control.
- Experience with software development life cycle and agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in designing scalable and maintainable architectures.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- A passion for mentoring and guiding junior team members.
- A continuous learner, open to embracing new technologies and development practices.
- Aspirations to be/become a Team Lead is a pre.
- Experience with a relational database such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
- Experience deploying code in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments
