The Native English Teacher instructs Bachelor and Master students from pre-intermediate to advanced levels in a variety of English courses.

1. Job Description:
Main and regular responsibilities
- Teach basic and advanced academic English and study skills to Bachelor and Master students
- Teach IELTS courses to Bachelor students
- Teach English to engineering students with a focus on electronics, mechanical engineering, and computer science
- Teach communicative English to VGU’s faculty and staff
- Do formative and summative assessments online, especially on Moodle, and offline during the semester
- Check student classroom attendance and give them timely warnings when their absences almost exceed 20% of the total number of classes
- Develop curriculum and syllabus for new study programs and/or courses
- Develop teaching materials, grade papers, and manage students’ grades and exam papers
- Introduce as well as organize LCFY teacher training sessions on appropriate digital tools and platforms for teaching

Periodic/ Irregular responsibilities
- Share teaching experiences and new knowledge in the field with colleagues
- Observe annual entrance exams and end-of-phase exams
- Train or mentor new English instructors
- Participate in periodic meetings with instructors in the specialized unit that he/she belongs to

Other duties
- Coordinate IELTS and Academic English courses in the foundation year
- Contribute to professional affairs in the specialized unit
- Support the university’s common tasks when needed

2. Job Requirements:
Qualification
- At least a Master Degree in the field of teaching English as a second or foreign language, English linguistics or equivalent, or a Bachelor's degree coupled with at least three years of verified experience of teaching English at a higher education institution
- Recognized teaching qualifications, preferably Cambridge CELTA
- Being an IELTS examiner is preferable

Knowledge
- Teaching English to learners of other languages

**Skills**:

- Teaching communicative, interpersonal, and/or other life skills
- Computer and IT skills, especially applied to teaching and learning at the university level
- Teamwork

Experience
- At least three-year work experience as an English Teacher in Asia
- To obtain a work permit in Vietnam, applicants must currently meet one of the following criteria: (1) holding a Master's degree in TESOL, TEFL, English linguistics, or equivalent, or (2) possessing a Bachelor's degree along with at least three years of verified experience of teaching English at a higher education institution

Other requirements
- Teachers are required to teach an average of 24 academic hours per week and be present on VGU main campus in Thoi Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City up to five days a week. The exact workload can be discussed with the manager beforehand
