The Senior EHS Specialist will support the development, implementation and continuous improvement of an effective environmental health and safety management system to meet local compliance requirements, Medtronic’s EHS Standards and aligned with APAC and corporate strategies, initiatives and goals.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
- Provide ongoing monitoring of EHS legislation and notify management of any changes and impact to the organization- Coordinate audit/inspection activities, local risk management activities including the development and implementation of programs to reduce risk- Provide EHS technical support, advice and coaching- Collaborate with business partners across the organization promoting EHS accountability and develop, implement training programs based on local needs- Review and maintain the currency of the EHSMS documents and local EHS intranet- Work with other functions on EPR (Extended Producer Responsibilities) and environmental. Health, safety and sustainability requirements- Manage occupational health clinic, health and safety committee, fire warden and first aider activities- As Safety Officer and Pollution Control Officer, lead execution of activities and programs on emergency preparedness and response, and pollution control measures to ensure compliance with environmental and safety laws.- Monitor EHS emerging trends, issues, including regulations, industry practices and new technologies on environmental sustainability in APAC.- Work with other functions on EPR (Extended Producer Responsibilities) and environmental. Health, safety and sustainability requirements- Provide support to EHS Senior Manager in Southeast Asia as required.

Required Knowledge and Experience:
Must Haves- Tertiary qualifications in a related discipline such as Workplace Health and Safety, Ergonomics, Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Science with a minimum of 4-7 years’ experience.

Your Profile- Workplace assessment and training qualifications desirable.- Proficient in Vietnam environmental and safety management and workplace safety codes and regulation with experience in working with local authorities.- EHS risk assessment experience, ionizing radiation, environmental sustainability knowledge, EPR and WEEE, and practical knowledge of project management desirable.- Understand auditing principles and relevant regulations desirable; experience in emergency preparedness and response, and EHS management systems auditing experience preferrable.- Ability to build strong customer (internal and external) relationships throughout a customer organization, at all levels.- Strong computer literacy.- Fluent in Vietnamese and English languages (written and oral).- Sound working knowledge of WHS (Workplace Health & Safety) / Risk Management / Workers Compensation legislation and Principles.
