Scope of Role
Project Engineer for delivery of electrical and electronic control system integration. Required to define on-vehicle electrical architectures, integration of communication networks and electrical distribution systems. Specific focus on the management of Electrical and control Attributes. You will provide leadership and technical expertise in your area.
Dimension of Function
Industrial & Heavy Machinery (IHM) is a growing industry area for Tata Technologies Limited. Controls and Electronics touches all parts of IHM, and as such, this role will be cross functional with a focus on integration and system optimisation.
Contacts
Internal TTL management, local TTL team members, customer technical staff and management.
Area of Responsibility
- Perform the development, delivery and validation of engine control systems including tasks of:

- system design,
- component selection,
- Electronic control module Input and output (I/O) definition and pinouts,
- Coordination of system test plans
- Involvement in systems FMEA’s
- Perform the above tasks on New technology (NTI) developments and New Product

Introduction (NPI) development.
- Work with process partner teams to gather, develop and document control system

requirements
- Coordinate individual workflow of developments based on the relative priorities of

customer’s needs.
- Participate in system FMEAs and related validation activity
- Monitor legacy system issues and lead the timely resolution of them.
- Adapt and develop system development processes

Knowledge / Experience

Essential
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Software or Automotive Engineering.
- Able to anticipate, translate and develop customer requirements into tangible feature developments
- Understanding of control system elements (sensors, actuators, controllers)
- Understanding of engine control related aspects of engine subsystems ( eg fuel, air

system, after treatment)
- Able to actively participate in system FMEAs and related validation activities.
- Ability to build relationships and influence customers
- Experience of electronic control system development and the related New Product Introduction processes

Desirable
- Experience of appropriate industry certification requirements and process,

particularly related to control systems
- Experience of working directly with development partners
- Experience of communication standards including J1939 datalinks
- Familiarity with dSPACE HiL testers or equivalent
- Familiarity with Systems Engineering requirements management tools

- Good technical skills related to Engine performance and Engine Electronic systems
- Problem solving, analysis and decision making - able to quickly evaluate the pros and cons in order to reach the most appropriate technical solution
