Garment Technical Designer

**Position Overview**:
The Technical Designer is responsible for the execution of product quality, fit, and construction to ensure compliance to Dick’s Sporting Goods standards. Partner with local Merchandising Team, Softlines, QA and suppliers to achieve the company goals.

**Responsibilities**:

- Works closely with US Technical Designer, Hong Kong Technical Design Manager and local Merchandising Team to ensure the factory can follow specification information;
- On site visit the factory and report to the Director in timely manner when there is any issue. Work with local QAs onsite in factory and factory managers to understand problems and recommend to US Technical Designer of correction;
- Provide technical advice of problematic samples and illustrate changes of garment fit and construction details. Recommend a most effective manufacturing operations;
- Tracks, record and organize garments and information to ensure timely fit sessions and on time delivery from Milestone 2 to Top of Production sample approval;
- Following up proactively on sample corrective action timely with suppliers according to fit comments;
- Own and manage the onboarding of new Softlines factories to ensure they well understand our company technical guideline and sample submission procedure;
- Provide training to vendors on self-approval processes, working through understanding and communication;
- Perform any ad-hoc tasks/projects as assigned by the superior.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Textiles /Clothing or related discipline;
- At least 5 years relevant experience, hands-on experience in conducting fit session, on-site factory experience is desirable;
- Knowledge in garment construction, pattern making, fit and manufacturing process;
- Ability to fit develop pattern/fit garment independently;
- Proficient in MS office, Illustrator and Photoshop;
- Experience with PLM is a plus;
- Good communication, analytical and problem solving skills;
- Good command of written and spoken English, Chinese and Mandarin preferred.
