Specific responsibilities are as follows:

- Work with local Project Teams and conduct project meetings
- Lead the project teams, assign tasks to team members and drive team members to complete assigned tasks
- "Poke Yoke" and OEE monitoring to improve plant efficiency and improved product quality
- Manage the following activities through the project teams
- Identify, provide feasibility studies and implement design improvements to suit manufacturing processes, or for the introduction of new plant, equipment and tooling.
- Develop new and existing manufacturing processes
- Liaise with the Service personnel in relation to field problems; review the product/process with the aim of eliminating the manufacturing defects/problems.
- Participate in Failure Mode Effects Analysis, FMEA
- Participate in Design for Manufacture Effects Analysis, DFMEA
- Define and document Process Flow Charts, and Factory Layouts
- Prepare tooling & equipment specifications and obtain quotations
- Purchase, install and commission new tooling and equipment
- Conduct production trials and pilot runs
- Provide manufacturing metrics, "Bill of Materials" for product manufacture.
- Purchase of raw materials and components
- Provide the necessary plant standard operating procedures and work instructions
- Train personnel in the correct assembly/operating procedures on existing/new equipment.
- Provide the necessary documentation for new tooling and equipment, including operating and setting instructions, drawings and maintenance programs
- Ensuring all material, component and product approvals are obtained
- Conduct SHE Risk Assessments on production machinery and processes. Develop and implement hazard control measures.
- Maintain the Quality System ISO 9001 and report to management on necessary improvements.
- To ensure that safe working and handling practices are followed and provide input into ways of improving OH&S of all personnel.
- Prepare and issue project team minutes and Action Plans
- Communicate project status and critical actions within the Rheem operation
- Liase with all departments associated with the planning, implementation and introduction of new products and/or production techniques.
- Prepare Capital Requisitions
- Manage project expenditure and maintain accurate expenditure records
- Maintain an accurate, current operations timeline
- Maintain accurate project records and documentation

Experience from developing and implementing programs with identifiable results using some of the following:

- Optimizing bottlenecks
- Operators participation in new designs
- 8-10 years experience with a Manufacturing or Engineering Qualification
- Experience in manufacturing engineering will be considered an advantage.
- Experience in CAD design an advantage (2D &/ 3D)
- Sound people management, team facilitation, conflict resolution and communication skills
- Minimum 5 years experience with and understanding of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
- An interest in developing & implementing organization development and culture change programs.
- A strong ability to relate to all levels from shop floor to senior management.
- Trained and experienced in using statistical measures to reduce process variations within a manufacturing environment.
- An ability to manage and complete complex projects.
- An ability to work on multiple projects within tight timeframes.
- An ability to work and achieve results within a team environment.
- Strong planning, organizing and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to communicate, speak and write English.
- Well developed computer skills (specifically Microsoft Office)
- A strong commitment to OHS and environmental compliance in the workplace.
