**Job description**:
**ABOUT THE JOB**

**YOUR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Design, deploy, and manage Monitoring platform (Splunk/OpenSearch) infrastructure, including indexers, search heads, forwarders, and deployment servers.
- Develop and maintain Splunk dashboards, reports, and alerts to provide visibility into system performance and security.
- Integrate data sources into Splunk, AppDynamics, OpenSearch, ensuring data integrity and optimal performance.
- Develop and manage data onboarding processes, including parsing, indexing, and data normalization.
- Monitor Splunk infrastructure for health and performance issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues with data collection, indexing, and search performance.
- Develop and maintain Python scripts for automating tasks and processes within the Splunk environment.
- Implement automation solutions to streamline data ingestion and monitoring workflows.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to understand monitoring and observability requirements.
- Provide technical support and training to end users, ensuring effective use of the platform.
- Implement best practices for Splunk/OpenSearch architecture, data retention, and performance optimization.
- Continuously assess and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Monitoring environment.

**Your skills and experience**:

- 5+ years of experience in monitoring tools and observability tools.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, JSON Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience in querying, analysing, creating metrics, and refining log event data.
- Experience in working in Splunk, Appdynamics and Opensearch/ELK, ability to create and maintain dashboards, alerts, and reports in Splunk or Opensearch.
- Experience in working with a Git-based workflow.
- Can use high level instructions to produce technical outcomes.
- Understanding of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve monitoring and performance issues.
- Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Ability to document configurations, processes, and troubleshooting steps clearly and comprehensively.
- Experience in Cloud computing and Amazon Web Services.
- Strong understanding of standard Software Engineering processes, Testing, and Agile methodology.

**Nice-to-have**:

- Experience in the Banking or Financial Services industry.
- Experience in Power BI Reporting
- Any additional certification or training in IT, Business, Computer Science, or related area.
