Database Administrator

**_The Database Administrator will be part of our global Delivery team in Ho Chi Minh city Vietnam. _**

**_The Role _**

Reporting to the Agile Development Manager based in Ho Chi Minh city, the Database Administrator is responsible for the daily management of a wide range of database environments. Experience in Linux, Oracle and PostgreSQL will be important for this role running on the cloud environments.

**_How you will contribute _**

You will work within the Global Development/Delivery teams to provide quality services to our internal business units and teams in Shanghai, Ho Chi Minh city and US.

In this role you will be responsible for all levels of database management, maintenance, and overall design and consulting. Your success has come from having a broad exposure to database management design theory and performance optimization techniques for Oracle and PostgreSQL.

This job will offer you opportunities to work in diverse environments and be responsible for the provision of system support across multiple domains, design/quote/delivery projects as well as consulting and pre-sales opportunities.

**You will be involved in a range of activities including**:

- Designing, implementing, and maintaining DB systems that meet the company’s business target, data storage and processing requirements:

- Installing, configuring, and maintaining databases including but not limited to Oracle and PostgreSQL
- Developing and maintaining data integration and ETL (extract, transform, load) processes.
- Developing and implementing data validation rules, data cleansing techniques, and other measures to ensure that the data in the database is accurate, complete, and consistent.
- Developing and implementing database backup and disaster recovery plans.
- Monitoring database performance, identifying, and resolving performance issues such as slow queries, database lockups, and other problems that may affect the overall performance of the database system.
- Optimizing database queries and indexes to ensure efficient data processing.
- Documenting database processes, procedures, and best practices to ensure that the database system is properly maintained, and that data is managed effectively.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to plan and implement database-related project.

**Your Skills and Experience to become **_Our Ideal Person
- **
- **2+ years of experience in PostgreSQL and Oracle database administration**:

- Strong understanding of database architecture and design:

- Having experience with various database management systems including but not limited to Oracle, and PostgreSQL.
- Having strong SQL skills and being able to write complex queries, create views, and perform data analysis using SQL.
- Being able to diagnose and troubleshoot database performance issues, identify root causes, and develop solutions to optimize database performance.
- Experience with Linux operating system.
- Knowledge of database backup and recovery procedures.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Familiarity with cloud-based database platforms such as AWS RDS.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
