Head of Finance

**Position Description**

This is a leadership role in charge of controling costs, limiting risks, and strengthening our decision-making process. As such the Head of Finance represents the Finance function in all Local Governance bodies in Vietnam.

**Position Specific Responsibilities and Accountabilities**
- Oversee daily operations of the Finance department
- Ensure compliance with Local and Group Regulatory and Internal Reporting Requirements and manage regulatory relationships from a Finance perspective in consultation with Country Management and Group Regulatory Affairs
- Act as the first point of contact for the business and for key Finance clients, and manage their demands/ partnership relationships
- Manage the delivery of financial information to clients on a periodic and adhoc basis according to demand while ensuring sustainability
- Provide meaningful analysis to facilitate decision making, financial and management reporting, business performance monitoring and cost management
- Perform amd enhance Anlytical Review / Validation and Control (V&C)
- Define, implement, and improve the Franchise-wide control framework to ensure the adequacy of our internal control on Financial Reporting
- Drive cost management discussions, transparency and strategies, and outline key variances, trends and outliers
- Act as a change agent who drives process and control automation and innovation, the build-out of the Finance system environment and the mprovement of data we report to our stakeholders.
- Establish and implement short-term and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures.
- Manage and lead the Local Finance team and liaise effectively with the Business and Infrastructure stakeholders in Vietnam as well as nearshore Business partners
- Create an environment where people management and development is the number one priority.
- Actively develop and coaches team members and others in the organisation, as appropriate
- Act as a role model for new employees, providing help and support to facilitate early integration and assimilation of their new environment
- Support tough people decisions to ensure people performance is aligned with organisation imperatives and needs. Address individual performance issues, where necessary, to drive for high performance.

**Experience/ Exposure & Skills**
- Professional account qualification - eg. ACA, ACCA, CPA
- 10 years post qualified experience in a Financial and/ or Product Control role, ideally within a Financial institution
- In-depth knowledge of the Regulatory and Tax regime in Vietnam
- Experience with managing relationships with local regulators, tax authorities and internal stakeholders
- Strong understanding of financial products, particulary in the area of Transaction Banking
- Analytical ability using standard and bespoke tools, plus a track record of formulating and presenting financial and operational solutions
- Hands-on experience with standart software such as SAP R/3, Axiom, and Business Objects as well as spreadsheets and database management
- Take ownership for own career management, seeking opportunities for continuous development of personal capability and improved performance contribution
- Operational and control skills to minimise the risk and sustain a safe operating environment
- Strong communication skills in English and Vietnamese

**Education/ Qualifications**
- Business and/ or Finance degree- Professional account qualification - eg.
