Junior Packaging Engineer

**Description**:
Hi there, we’re Article. We’re a North American online furniture company creating remarkably better furniture experiences one sofa at a time. And as the **Vietnam Junior Packaging Engineer (Intern)**, you’ll be reviewing and validating suppliers packaging specifications and testing reports against Article’s standards.

This will be a 6 month term, for a recent graduate with an engineering degree. If you are already working as an engineer for over one year, you will **NOT** be considered for this role.

**Why We Need You**:
As part of the Packaging team, based in HCMC, you will support the Packaging Engineer in working with our suppliers to validate packaging specification documents and carton markings to ensure they meet Article’s requirements.

**What You’ll Do**:
You’ll be part of the Vietnam Packaging team working to support daily activities and given professional training to learn new skills for future opportunities.
- Requesting packaging and carton marking specifications from Article’s suppliers.
- Reviewing and validating suppliers packaging specifications and testing reports against Article’s standards.
- Daily communication with Article’s suppliers as needed. Travel to Suppliers in HCMC and other regions of Vietnam may be required on occasion.
- Assist the Packaging Engineer with maintaining and updating Article’s packaging and carton marking standards. Stays informed of Article policies and practices.
- Invests time to seek out and deepen understanding of internal or external customer needs. Anticipates and prioritizes customer needs and reflects them when selecting courses of action.
- Identifies the essential elements of a problem and uses that insight to select the most effective approach or solution. Acknowledges mistakes and will take action to mitigate negative outcomes.
- Seeks out relevant information about Article to make good decisions from available sources, including leaders, peers, processes or internal resources. Selects from available approaches to work through a particular problem and can articulate the most important criteria.
- Understands general aspects of Article’s strategy. Participates willingly by supporting team decisions, assisting other Particles, and doing their share of the work.
- Establishes trust with other Particles by expressing views and offering insights. Will solicit other opinions where appropriate to assist in making decisions. Willingly receives feedback from leaders and other Particles on their performance, and practices active listening.

**Who You Are**:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or relevant discipline from a reputable university.
- A strong desire and interest in packaging engineering are required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Excellent English and Vietnamese skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
- Proficient with G-suite, sheets, docs etc.
- Experience with project management software such as Wrike (or similar) will be a plus.
