Key Responsibilities
  • Legacy System Support
    • Design and implement database solutions to meet business requirements.
    • Optimize database performance and troubleshoot issues.
    • Develop and maintain database documentation and standards.
  • New System Development & Implementation
    • Participate in project planning and estimation.
    • Develop and manage work plans to ensure project milestones are met.
    • Analyze business and functional requirements to translate them into technical specifications.
  • Development & Implementation
    • Collect and analyze data to drive business improvements.
    • Plan, create, and deploy data warehouses.
    • Develop data architecture, data modeling, and data mapping solutions.
    • Develop and implement ETL jobs/data pipelines.
  • Production Support
    • Troubleshoot BI tools, systems, and software.
    • Investigate and correct data load or reconciliation inconsistencies.
  • Customer Service
    • Communicate with customers about business intelligence tool problems and resolutions.
    • Track and report on issues and enhancement requests.
    • Work closely with customers to create ad hoc reports.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience as a DBA with strong expertise in legacy and modern systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in database design, performance tuning, and optimization in complex environments.
  • Hands-on experience with data architecture, data modeling, ETL development, and BI systems.
  • Proficiency in SQL, T-SQL, PL/pgSQL scripting languages, and ETL tools.
  • Strong understanding of database management systems, including SQL Server, and PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with cloud-based databases (Azure SQL, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL)
  • Familiarity with BI tools and data warehouse concepts.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Nice to Have
  • Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate, or equivalent.
  • Experience with cloud-based databases and modern BI tools.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools related to database automation (e.g., Ansible, Terraform).
