**Take ownership for delivering complex projects**

In this role, you will be responsible for activities contributing to the design and development of products, solutions and systems. Includes activities linked to technical improvement of existing products and components. Comprehensive in-depth understanding of complex and highly technical concepts and principles in the own part of the function. Strong knowledge of technical concepts in technologies that intersect with own technical space.

As the Lead Mechanical Design Engineer, you will also be responsible for:

- Interpreting and communicating of industry and international codes and standards.
- Interpretating and implementing of client standards and global practices.
- Ensuring and verify technical compliance of products with specification, codes, standards, legislation and client technical requirements.
- Engaging with all relevant stakeholders (internal and external) developing and maintaining effective relationships/partnerships to meet project deliverables.
- Generating and / or reviewing technical procurement specifications, parts and document suites.
- Owning product and task including the generation of robust design files to demonstrate due diligence.
- Ensuring that product design conforms with field proven or qualified technologies.
- Promoting Compliance, Quality & EHS integrity through developing succinct procedures, work instructions, product and process related documentation and creatively promote their use.
- Professional representing of Baker Hughes in client and vendor focused design review.
- Technically driving contribution to vendor selection processes.
- Continuously contributing to department and site goals and objectives.
- Acting as a change agent in the business with energy, passion & enthusiasm to support business activities and alignment of processes to meet business needs.
- Taking responsibility in working across global SPS Engineering Teams to deliver solutions to assigned work packages.
- Demonstrating ability to multi-task and work to agreed schedules and be ‘commercially aware' in engineering solutions.
- Implementing initiatives and best practices to continuously improve the Inquiry to Order (ITO) & Order to Remittance (OTR) responsiveness of the organization to customer and business needs.
- Working closely with the New Product Initiative (NPI) team to support the delivery of NPI programs and assisting in defining the technology gaps to drive future NPI alignment.
- Managing and reviewing of outsourced (internal or external) work packages and removal of barriers to achieve success.
- Demonstrating adherence to schedule and budget commitments for assigned packages of work.

- Have degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent with relevant work experience.
- Be compliant to company SHE and Operating Policies and Procedures and relevant standards where applicable and appropriate (e.g., API, ASME, ANSI, ISO, IET, ATEX OSHAS NORSOK CompEx, OSHAS (NFPA 70E ).
- Be conscientious, flexible, versatile and determined. Capable of assertive and positive communication and performance.
- Be self-motivated and able to work both individually and as part of a team.
- Have proven ability to achieve business’ targets, actively build relationships with clients.
- Have strong technical problem solving, be resilient & persistent under all circumstances

Preferred criteria:

- Have demonstrated sufficient depth of industrial experience of which some should be in directly related engineering or in a relevant technical discipline.
- Have experience within Subsea Production Control Systems (PCS), design and Intervention product lines.
- Have experience and knowledge of direct and indirect hydraulic control systems, and hydro-mechanical product design
- Have experience working in an engineering role as a 3D mechanical desig
