Senior Backend Engineer

As an Engineer you develop software, creating clean and maintainable code which helps with building an expanding product. Your tailor-made code seamlessly integrates our products with customers' systems.
You ensure our solutions are tested, accessible, extensible, maintainable, secure and perform well. The devil is in the detail and nothing escapes your sight. In this role, you work in an empowered team of highly skilled software developers.

You seamlessly integrate the Backbase platform into our customers' systems, while focusing on the back-end part of the implementation.
You provide solid technical solutions to complex issues whilst helping us deliver the best customer experience and reinforce company reputation. Your core responsibility is to respond to reported issues as vigorously as possible and solve complex problems.
You use your understanding of programming languages and tools to analyse current codes and industry developments, formulate efficient processes, solve problems and create a seamless experience for millions of users across the globe.
You coach a team of developers on the client and partner side and provide training to those who work with the platform. You are a part of the project team and thrive working with colleagues from multiple cultures.
Backbase provides a modern software solution developed in microservices architecture, ensuring financial institutions can build on the top of cutting-edge technology. As such, many modern principles have been adopted such as continuous integration and delivery. We have also adopted Agile practices that contribute to rapid delivery, with decisions being driven out of the team with autonomy rather than top down.

Bachelor in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or similar/related technical field, or equivalent practical experience;
Excellent English speaking, writing and presentation skills;
You have a solid background in software development including design;
You are able to communicate clearly and confidently across all levels to get buy-ins from technical stakeholders as well as from your team members;
Experience in the banking domain or Fintech products will be considered an advantage;
You have excellent communication skills in English, spoken and written;
You have experience with Java, Spring, Maven, CI and CD;
You have experience with microservices (Netflix OSS is a plus);
Knowledgeable of relational databases;
You have experience with non-functionals such as security, performance, scalability etc.;
