**About the Role**
We are seeking individuals with a keen enthusiasm for shaping something entirely novel from its foundation. This role offers an exceptional opportunity for those passionate about solving real-world challenges by crafting cutting-edge APIs and designing high-quality, user-friendly interfaces.

Join our dynamic team and lead innovation at the forefront. Work closely with a small, agile group to create features that automate tasks and empower merchants with seamless self-onboarding and content management. Your role promises a significant impact, contributing to the development of an innovative solution.

**Responsibilities**:

- Lead the implementation of end-to-end features for the platform as a full stack engineer for the team.
- Maintain high standards for code quality, reliability, and scalability
- Design and implement highly efficient APIs and their underlying infrastructure, showcasing excellence in software design and maintaining close collaboration with the design team to create elegant, accessible, and user-friendly interfaces.
- Advocate for writing comprehensive unit tests to improve code reliability and maintainability, fostering a testing culture within the development process
- Own problems from end to end, managing complexity and engaging directly with other teams, Project, Partnerships etc to think through everything from business impact, to reliability and operability, to the ease of integration, and the expressiveness of our product APIs
- Serve as a role model for high engineering standards and bring consistency to the codebases and Ops processes you will encounter

**Your skills and experience**:
**What we're looking for**:

- Good proficiency in utilising **Ruby on Rails** for the creation of highly scalable APIs. Alternatively, a robust inclination and eagerness to rapidly acquire expertise in **Ruby**.
- Proven experience in frontend development, specialising in frameworks such as **React, Angular, or Vue**, with a particular emphasis on **TypeScript**. Additional experience within the **React** ecosystem would be advantageous.
- Participation in technical roadmaps and Request for Comments (RFCs) to communicate technical strategy and address architectural challenges
- Excellent collaboration skills, comfortable working in cross-functional teams, and adept at interacting not only with engineering but also with product, design, and business teams
- Passionate about mentoring and leading engineers, providing guidance and coaching for high performance
- Preference for simple solutions and designs over complex ones, demonstrating a keen intuition for solutions that are both enduring and scalable
