**The School**

Viet Nam Tinh Hoa, supported by North London Collegiate School International, blends Vietnamese cultural heritage with NLCS’s 170-year legacy of academic excellence. We offer rigorous academics, a dual-language program, and personalized care through small classes. Our teachers and our students are our greatest assets. With a growing Primary phase established for three years, we are excited to launch our senior school in August 2025. This will be on the same campus as our Primary section.

**Position Overview**

Both specialist middle/senior school teachers and Primary teachers who wish to ‘step up’ will be considered.

This role will involve a student contact time load of between 50 and 60%.

**Professional experience and qualifications**
- Teaching Qualification equivalent to B.Ed or PGCE + Relevant Degree
- IB MYP Category 1 training
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience -** both specialist middle school teachers and Primary teachers who wish to ‘step up’ will be considered.**:

- Demonstrated leadership experience, preferably as a Coordinator, Head of Department, or equivalent role.
- Experience with or strong understanding of IB MYP or PYP programmes
- Experience in curriculum development and design
- Experience in founding or contributing to the growth of a new school or educational program.
- A qualification and experience in working with students for whom English is an additional language is an advantage

**Duties & responsibilities**:
The following list of responsibilities is not exhaustive. Responsibilities highlighted in _italics_ are expected to become more prominent in the role from year 2.

**Leadership and Curriculum Development**:

- Collaborate with the SLT to design and shape the MYP curriculum in alignment with NLCS’s high academic standards and the International Baccalaureate Organization’s (IBO) principles.
- Develop and implement policies, structures, and systems that support excellence in teaching and learning within the MYP framework.
- Lead the establishment of a culture of innovation, inquiry, and academic rigor in Grade 6
- Report on progress made in MYP curriculum delivery to senior staff at designated times in the term and year
- Lead communication (digital and in person events) with parents to positively promote understanding of the MYP curriculum and to support parents in helping their children to progress
- _ Mentor and support staff in their professional development related to the MYP, including planning and delivering training sessions._
- _ Monitor quality of learning experience in MYP Grade 6 teaching to ensure NLCS standards of academic excellence._

**Teaching and Learning**
- Foster a safe, supportive environment where students feel confident in taking risks with their learning and questioning and are encouraged to be curious creative, and critical thinkers.
- Assess and monitor grade 6 student progress, providing timely feedback and tailoring instruction to individual needs.
- Build strong relationships with students and parents, maintaining open communication and a commitment to student wellbeing.

**Extracurricular Activities**
- Contribute to the school wide enrichment programme by providing one activity a week.

- Promote the school’s ethos of academic excellence, respect, and collaboration among students, staff, and parents.
- Serve as an ambassador for Viet Nam Tinh Hoa, fostering relationships with the broader community to support the school’s mission.
- Participate in events, marketing, and community-building activities that highlight the school’s distinctive offerings.

**Management and Collaboration**
- Assist in the appointment of MYP teachers for 2026-2027, ensuring alignment with the school’s vision and goals.
- Collaborate with Primary Years Programme (PYP) to ensure vertical and horizontal articulation of the curriculum.
- Work with administrative staff to oversee scheduling, resources, and logístical support for MYP implementation.
