Summary:

Business Development:

To ideate, plan, direct, and control all relevant activities that will drive growth, enhance customer loyalty and financial outcomes for Baxter products and services in existing and new businesses.

Specific focus area's are defined by GM.

Commercial Effectiveness:
To develop, design and lead the execution of Commercial Effectiveness programs in close consultation with regional ComEx team and local Business Unit Managers (inclusive of commercial training, CRM, SFE, Sales and tender support & execution excellence)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Commercial Management of Growth Area's identified

  • Plan, lead, manage and control the planning and demand creation program for relevant portfolio in territory through the development and execution of strategic plans into sales. Achieve sales and growth plan, product mix and profit objectives.
  • Conceptualize and implement strategies and programs consistent with longterm business objectives.
  • Seek opportunities at existing key accounts to improve product/company market share to support market penetration.
  • Identify, develop key accounts to support market expansion.
  • Build long term relationship with KOL and decision makers

Financial Management

  • Ensure profitability of products and services managed
  • Liaise with relevant internal stakeholders to recommend a pricing and channel approach based on validated research and analysis of market dynamics

Market Analysis

  • Understand, anticipate and shape customer needs; use factbased research to identify market opportunities.
  • Track and analyze competitor's product and service performance visàvis own portfolio
  • Identify opportunities based on market trends and analysis

Operations Management

  • Oversee development and execution of tactical plans to implement marketing strategies and programs
  • Develop strong partnership with crossfunctional teams to ensure understanding of BU tactics and implementation of functional plans to support the business.
  • Allocate appropriate resources to execute plans
  • Manage the distributor relationship to drive compliance and execution.
  • Coordinate with distributor to ensure customer satisfaction with purchase order, delivery, invoice and credit

Commercial Effectiveness

  • To plan and ensure execution of the Commercial Excellence calendar of events in liaison with Regional ComEx team and local Commercial leadership to maximise capability and execution of the commercial teams and accelerate business performance.
  • To support the assessment, planning and execution of the Sales Force effectiveness training and provide guidance to Country Training Lead.
  • To provide general oversight for the tender and contracting strategy and processes (in liaison with Distributor network) to ensure compliance and maximise sales performance.
  • To provide oversight to the adoption and use of CRM / ComEx platforms, optimise use and suggest enhancements to ensure customer and salesforce insights are driving performance excellence.

People Management

  • Hire, train, motivate and develop the relevant team to build engagement, achieve key results and drive customer focus.
  • Role model the Company's values and Code of Conduct. Ensure all activities and behaviour are in compliance with Code of Conduct.

Education and Qualifications:

  • University degree in a related field; MBA or Business qualification is an advantage
  • At least 5year solid sales and marketing experience in a managerial role in the healthcare industry; experience in sales operations would bring added dimension to the role
  • Experience in channel management would be an advantage
