Job description:

PURPOSE OF JOB

We are seeking a talented and motivated Backend Engineer to join our team, specializing in the development and maintenance of our Human Resources Information System (HRIS).

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the backend architecture of our HRIS platform.

Your expertise will contribute to the seamless integration of various HR functions and the optimization of processes within our organization.


JOB RESPONSIBILITY

  • Design, develop, and maintain efficient backend services for our HRIS platform.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate userfacing elements with serverside logic, ensuring optimal system performance and responsiveness.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and welldocumented code, following industry best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to gather and understand user requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Implement data storage solutions and integrate with thirdparty APIs as needed to enhance the HRIS capabilities, ensuring data integrity and compliance with privacy and security regulations.

Your skills and experience:

JOB REQUIREMENT

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Experience:
Proven experience of 2+ years working as a Backend Engineer, preferably with experience in HRIS or related systems.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Good understanding of backend development concepts and technologies, including databases, APIs, data modeling.
  • Be confident of one of the serverside programming languages (.NET, Python, Java, , Ruby, e.g.,).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, microservices architecture, and data modeling.
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
  • Understanding of security best practices, data privacy, and compliance standards.
  • Strong problemsolving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
  • Perform good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
