SECONDARY MUSIC TEACHER

(Strings Specialism preferred)

  • Applications are invited from enthusiastic, qualified and experienced teachers. A minimum of two years teaching in a Secondary school setting is required. A real passion in working with motivated and high achieving children is essential.
  • The Music Department at BIS is a vibrant and energetic environment with fantastic opportunities for collaborations amongst students, staff and external partners. In KS3, students follow a band, strings or choral pathway and access the Music curriculum through their chosen instrumental or vocal route. KS3 students also work with the Juilliard Creative Classroom; an exciting collaboration that allows exploration of a wide variety of music genres. KS4 students take the CIE IGCSE, whilst KS5 take IB Music at either Standard or Higher Level. Co-Curricular clubs, concerts and productions are a key part of the school calendar and all Music teachers are fully involved in these, covering a wide range of musical styles and interests. Our students are extremely enthusiastic, motivated and value the opportunities they have to perform in a wide range of performances including the School Musical, and events in the local community. The BIS Music department is a vibrant and fulfilling place to work.
