About the Department
The Compliance function is a strategic partner and a trusted business enabler to the Board and senior management.

It is our responsibility to ensure that the Group continuously fulfils its regulatory obligations in today's tight and dynamic regulatory landscape.

To do that, we work closely with internal stakeholders to identify and to assess regulatory risks.

This collaboration also includes developing practical solutions that integrate regulations into operational requirements as well as actively shaping and promoting stronger compliance culture and literacy in the Bank.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct AML investigations and research on potentially suspicious clients using various internal and external systems and databases, in alignment with FIU Operating Procedures and local directives
  • To coordinate with various units of the Bank to identify other relationships of customers being investigated.
  • Document and report the review/investigation findings and prepare case files with the required supporting documentation
  • Summarize, in writing or verbally presenting, clear and concise findings of the investigation or escalation
  • Advise senior management on next steps and provide recommendations on the next course of action (relationship retention, termination, Suspicious Activity Report (SAR))
  • Tracking and preparing the relevant metrics or KPI
  • Performing the internal testing to on relevant activities, risk and controls to assess the effectiveness of control processes
  • To work closely with other business partners including Relationship managers, CSIS, GIU and Business Controls to assist in AML investigations.
  • Manage risk by analyzing the root cause of issues and impact to business
  • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, interact effectively, with different levels of management and to operate with excellent corporate work ethics (timely, honest, respectful and considerate to coworkers).
  • Knowledge and understanding of compliance/ AML policies and standards.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations.
  • Strong and clear understanding of businesses and operational processes.
  • Ability to multitask and execute with a sense of urgency, ultimate goal being to deliver on tasks effectively and efficiently.
  • Effectively works under pressure.
  • Good knowledge of English and high standard of written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Good at decision making.
  • Demonstrated initiative and creativity in problem solving.

_Qualifications:
_

  • 45 years' relevant experience in AML, Compliance, Risk Management
  • Knowledge of AML regulations preferred
  • Proficient in MS Office and Internet & commercial database searches

_Education:
_

  • Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Various training courses on banking products, Risk Management, Compliance, AML
