We support your employees with money whenever it’s needed. PayPense enables management and control of employee-related expenditures – in real time. We’re a corporate credit card and expense management system for any B2B and T&E spend where employees can apply for funds in real time. Whenever an employee has to make expenses for their company, we come into play. We have not only revolutionized the way payment and approval are made, but also what happens to all the documents and how decisions can be derived from them.

Your mission is to further develop and shape PayPense and its solutions and make it the next big thing together with a great team.

POSITION

We are looking for a Senior Java Backend Engineer (all genders) responsible for building backend services; Restful, events sourcing based on Micro-service Architecture and integrating with payment systems.

CHALLENGE
  • Implement one of our core interface platforms, exposed to a global ecosystem of hotel chains
  • Continuous improvement of the platform to identify and resolve bottlenecks in runtime and development aspects
  • Leverage generative AI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Amazon Code Whisperer, etc., to accelerate software delivery
  • Employ best software engineerings best practices such Continuous Integration - Continuous Delivery/Deployment
  • Write quality code and documentation, as well as develop and apply comprehensive test automation
  • Collaborate across teams with regards to overarching technical concepts and practices   Stabilize, perform improvement and refactor service layer and data model
  • Mentor other engineers and continue building a strong culture of quality
  • Design, develop and enhance/improve our backend system to meet business requirements
  • Design architecture and development APIs for frontend systems.
  • Follow Product Management processes and procedures and provide APIs definitions, business rules, and APIs access methods
  • Work in an agile environment and align with Agile/Scrum methodology for development work.
FOR THIS EXCITING MISSION YOU ARE EQUIPPED WITH...
  • 3+ years of experience in programming software using Java, modern cloud software architectures, and related technologies.
  • Have a good communication skill in order to work in a team
  • Should be able to learn new technologies and skills quickly and apply them to work.
  • Should be able to guide/teach fellow junior-level programmers.
  • Have good logical thinking, strong problem-solving mindset.
  • Ability to speak in English at the business level.
  • Solid knowledge and experiences with OOP, SOLID and software design patterns.
  • Experience in Java server-side programming, and ability to code in Java from scratch.
  • Experience with Java frameworks such as Spring/Spring Boot Framework.
  • Experience in SQL database programming (MySQL, MariaDB).
  • Experience working with RESTful APIs.
  • Familiar with some caching techniques (Redis, Memcache…)
  • Familiar with some message queue techniques (Kafka, Rabbit…)
  • Familiar with Source Control tools such as Git.

  • Experience in the domains of Finance, Banking, Fintech.
  • Knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience in setting up CI/CD flow and operating the system.
